Монгол улс нь 1964 оноос эхлэн Олимпын наадамд оролцож эхлэсэн бөгөөд үүнээс хойш бараг бүхий л зуны олимпод оролцсон. Тэр цагаас хойш өнөөдрийг хүртэл 2 алт, 11 мөнгө, 17 хүрэл, нийт 30 медаль аваад байна. Монголчууд медаль хүртэж байсан чөлөөт бөх, жүдо, бокс, буудлага гэсэн 4 төрөл бий. 2008 оны Бээжингийн олимпоос өмнө Монгол улс нь нэг ч алтан медаль аваагүй орнуудаас медалийн чанараараа тэргүүлж байсан боловч энэхүү олимпод жүдогийн төрлөөр Найдангийн Түвшинбаяр улсынхаа анхны Олимпын алтан медалийг авчирсан. Одоогийн байдлаар Монгол улсын жүдочид 11, чөлөөтийнхөн 10, боксчид 7, буудлагынхан 2 медаль хүртсэн байна.
